I do hope in 2024 that -
I hope that in 2024 that more people will use Time Based Analysis to identify the waste and untapped potential in their organisations and reduce costs, improve value adding time and save the Worlds scarce resources. Existing value adding times of less than 15% are common.
I hope that in 2024 that the British National Health Service will use time-based analysis to track the entire health patient journey, including all the queue and wait times instead of just the islands of touch time efficiency. This will reduce the current 7 million waiting list.
I hope that in 2024 more people will use Pull type control supply chain triggers, including material kitting, direct material feeds to point of use and blanket purchase orders, instead of Push type MRP/ERP and reduce material inventories and throughput times.
I hope that in 2024 I will see more analysis of the problem prior to corrective action instead of a continuation of “Let’s try this or let’s try that” or “In 1980 my lean sensei said” attempting to solve an unidentified problem with an “Off the shelf tool” is like giving a health patient everything in the pharmacy in the hope something works.
I can only hope.
